Plenty to choose from this weekend.
Films on the Lawn
Philbrook Museum’s annual summer Films on the Lawn program continues Friday. This week the museum is showing the Academy Award-winning 1966 film “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” General admission is $7. Garden gates open at 7:30 p.m., and the movie starts at dusk. Bring blankets or chairs and a picnic basket.
Boats, Melons and BBQ
The Boats, Melons and BBQ Festival will be at Keystone Lake on Saturday. The fun begins at 9 a.m. at the New Mannford Ramp. Activities include a free fishing derby for kids, games and an activity area with waterslides.
A barbecue cook-off, vintage vehicle show, wake-boarding competition and cardboard boat races round off the event. The day will end with live music.
Mom & Son Luau
Moms, do you want some time to bond with your sons? Head to the Nienhuis Aquatic Facility, 3201 N. Ninth St. in Broken Arrow, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, for the Mom & Son Luau. Admission is $5 per person. Grandmothers and their grandsons are also welcome. Don’t forget your swimming clothes so you can enjoy the pool and slides. Or participate in some of the games for a chance to win prizes. A concession stand and some free snacks will be available.
Attendees are encouraged to buy tickets in advance at the park’s Community Center, but tickets will also be available on the day of the event. Call 918-259-6550 for more information.
