“Life by Chocolate”
The sixth annual “Life by Chocolate” event, a gourmet chocolate sampling and silent auction, is set for 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at Club 209, 209 N. Boulder. The event benefits the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Rhea Lana’s consignment sale
Rhea Lana’s of South Tulsa will host their fall back-to-school consignment sale event Aug. 14-18 at The Shoppes at Regal Plaza, 106th and Memorial.
You’ll find clothes, toys, books and more. Admission to the event is free.
Hours for the full-price sale are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 14, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 15, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 16. Hours for the half-price sale are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 17 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 18.

Zoo
The Tulsa Zoo is offering what it calls “Back to Cool” prices. From Aug. 10-19, admission to the zoo will be $4. Enjoy all the animal exhibits for this low price, and be sure to stop by to see the newest jaguar cubs.
“The Big Chill” also continues at the zoo. Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, kids can enjoy the zoo’s inflatable water slides all day for $5.
Summer zoo hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Kidtastic Gymnastics
The August Kids Club event, presented by Airborne Athletics, is Kidtastic Gymnastics. The event will be at lower level center court at Tulsa Promenade Mall from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Kids of all ages will have the opportunity to practice simple gymnastic moves, play games and listen to music.

Tread4Trafficking
Tread4Trafficking, set for Saturday, is a family-friendly 5k walk/run to support the A21 Campaign, a non-profit organization that fights human trafficking globally. A 1-mile fun run will begin at 7 p.m. and the timed 5k begins at 7:30 p.m. near the Amphitheatre at the River West Festival Park, 2100 S. Jackson. Registration is $25 for the fun run and $30 for the 5k. Race day registration begins at 4 p.m.
Runners are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Justice League character. Music will be part of the event, and snacks and snow cones will be available for purchase.

Elizabeth Smart

Abduction survivor Elizabeth Smart will speak about her experience at the University of Tulsa’s Reynolds Center, 11th Street and Harvard Avenue, at 7 p.m. Friday.
Smart was abducted from her Utah home 10 years ago at the age of 14 and was held captive before she was rescued nine month later. She is now an activist for missing and abused children.
General admission is $25. Tickets for a VIP reception at 6 p.m. are $150, and only 100 are available.

Free haircuts
Just a reminder that J.C. Penney salons are offering free haircuts all month for kids in kindergarten through 6th grade. Appointments necessary. Call 855-JCP-KIDS or stop by a store to make an appointment while they last.
Clary Sage College and Oklahoma Technical College are also holding their annual Cuts for Kids events.
The free cuts will be available at Clary Sage College, 3131 S. Sheridan, from 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. today; and Oklahoma Technical College, 4444 S. Sheridan, from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Aug. 15-16. No appointments necessary.

Tulsa To Do
