This weekend: Holiday shopping, organ music and a 'weatherization clinic'

Latino College Fair

Martin Regional Library, 2601 S. Garnett Road, is hosting a Latino College Fair from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today. Attendees will meet with representatives from area universities, colleges and vocational schools. Information about library resources on colleges and financial aid will be available. Presentations will be given in Spanish, and information will be available in English and Spanish.

“How to Make Money With Your Music”

Country music impresario Jim Halsey will present a free lecture titled “How to Make Money With Your Music” at the Tulsa Historical Society, 2445 S. Peoria Ave., at 6 p.m. today.
Halsey will talk about how artists can successfully build their team and what formulas are necessary to make money in the music industry. Halsey’s background includes being the long-term manager of Roy Clark and The Oak Ridge Boys.
A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation.

Holiday consignment sale
Shoppers looking for holiday gifts and toys for children have a new place to shop — Tulsa’s Just Between Friends Holiday Toy Sale.
The consignment sale will be at the Fair Meadows Exhibit Hall at Expo Square, 4145 E. 21st St., Friday through Sunday.
Items on sale include toys, games, puzzles, holiday-themed books, DVDs and CDs, electronics, gaming systems, some baby equipment, holiday decor items and new children’s clothes.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 on Friday and free Saturday and Sunday. Some items will be half off on Sunday.

Xtreme Fight Night
Xtreme Fight Night 10 will be at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tulsa, 777 W. Cherokee St. in Catoosa, on Friday. Doors open at 6:45 p.m., pre-fighting starts at 7 p.m. and the main event begins at 8 p.m.
Fighters include Randy “Boom Boom” Blake, “The Samoan Warrior” Deutsch Pu’u, Dylan Smith, Ed Cline, Myron “The Future” Dennis and Ricky “Wreckin Ball” McCall.
Tickets are $43-$103, available at tulsaworld.com/hardrockcasino or by calling 918-384-7625. All patrons must be at least 21 years old.
A portion of ticket sales will benefit the Folds of Honor Foundation.

Weatherization clinic
Westlake Ace, 3948 S. Peoria Ave., is offering a free weatherization clinic from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Dec. 8. Attendees will learn how to prepare their houses for winter and save money on their heating bills at the hands-on event. Participants should bring photos of their doors and windows, as well as the dimensions of their attic space. Information on insulation, caulking and an aluminum door seal will also be available.

Organist Christopher Jennings
Organist Christopher Jennings will perform at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Episcopal Church, 501 S. Cincinnati Ave.
Jennings, who holds degrees from Indiana University and Yale University, is the assistant organist and director of music at St. James on Madison Avenue in New York City. His program will be a multi-media event, featuring New York composers and pictures of the Hudson River Valley.
Tickets are $10 for students and seniors, $20 for all others. Tickets are available at the door.

Tulsa To Do
