Festival of Trees wraps up this weekend at Philbrook Museum. STEPHEN PINGRY/Tulsa World
Some of this weekend's options:
Night of Hospitality
Hospitality House of Tulsa, 1135 S. Victor Ave., will host a musically synchronized light show at 6 p.m. today.
A visit from Santa and live music is also part of the event. Admission is free, but attendees are encouraged to donate supplies such as blankets, toothpaste, water bottles and crackers for waiting room survival kits being distributed to people without financial resources who are waiting with family members during lengthy medical stays.
The show consists of more than 10,000 lights and will be shown every night through Jan. 3. Attendees can park their vehicles in the Hillcrest Physician’s building parking lot, directly across from the facility at 1135 S. Victor Ave., and tune into a local radio frequency to enjoy the musically synchronized light show.
For more information, including what donations are needed, call 918-794-0088 or visit

Jazz to the World
Local jazz musicians will perform in concert Thursday to benefit the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma.
Jazz to the World is set for 7 p.m. today at First Christian Church, 913 S. Boulder.
Musicians include Steve Schrag, Amy Cottingham, Stephen Goforth and Joe Wilkinson.
Tickets are $5, available at the door.
Festival of Trees
The Festival of Trees at Philbrook Museum, 2727 S. Rockford Road, wraps up this weekend. The festival features decorated trees and gingerbread villages that will be available for purchase, along with holiday pins and ornaments at the museum shop.
General admission is $11.
Santa will also be available for pictures at the museum from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
Weatherization clinic
Although current temperatures make it hard to believe that real winter weather will ever be upon us, there’s still time yet.
If you want to start preparing your home for cold weather, Westlake Ace, 3948 S. Peoria Ave., is offering a free weatherization clinic from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8.
Attendees will learn how to prepare their houses for winter and save money on their heating bills at the hands-on event. Participants should bring photos of their doors and windows, as well as the dimensions of their attic space. Information on insulation, caulking and an aluminum door seal will also be available.
For more information, call 918-712-7376.
Mall holiday event
Tulsa Promenade mall’s December Kids Club event will feature the statewide music group Oklahoma Kids. From 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, kids can sing holiday songs and dance along with the group in the mall’s food court. Interactive games and giveaways will also be part of the event.
