This weekend: Theater, silent movies and Juneteenth

There's a lot to choose from this week.

Shelby Nationals
The 38th annual Mid America Ford and Team Shelby Nationals continues in Tulsa through Sunday. Car enthusiasts will have a chance to see about 800 mustangs cruising Tulsa streets around 6 p.m. Thursday, during the Brady Ford Fest. The Shelby Nationals will also include open track events at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit through Saturday. Spectator tickets are available for $15. Glenn Miller Orchestra
The Glenn Miller Orchestrawill perform 7 p.m. Friday at the VanTrease PACE, 10300 E. 81st St. Numbers will include “Moonlight Serenade,” “Pennsylvania 6-5000” and “Chattanooga Choo-Choo.” The orchestra will also perform a specially commissioned “Oklahoma Medley” that will incorporate Oklahoma-related songs. Juneteenth events
Through June 19, Juneteenth events are ongoing in the historic Greenwood district of downtown Tulsa and across northeast Oklahoma. Thursday’s events will include a street party at the intersections of Greenwood Avenue and Archer Street, starting at 5 p.m. An art display of grocery stores that once thrived in the area, along with other imagery, will be part of the event. Friday, a Revival To Reconciliation will be held at OSU-Tulsa at 7:30 p.m., with Pastor Sharon Daugherty.

Theater options
Performances of the musical “Jersey Boys” continue at the Tulsa PAC through June 24. Tickets are $25-$125, available at 918-596-7111 and tulsaworld.com/mytix.
“Annie” is at the Convention Center through Sunday. Tickets are $20-$30, available at 877-885-7222 or tulsaworld.com/tpttix.
Two musicals presented by LOOK Musical Theatre open at the PAC this week. “Gypsy” begins Friday and runs through July 8. And “Avenue Q,” for mature audiences only, begins Saturday and runs through July 3. Tickets for both performances are $32, available at 918-596-7111 or tulsaworld.com/mytix.

Glenpool Black Gold Days

The 34th annual Black Gold Days will be held Thursday through Saturday at Black Gold Park, 95 W. 145th St. in Glenpool. The event is a celebration commemorating the 1905 discovery of oil in the city.
Festivities kick off at 5 p.m. Thursday, and attractions include a carnival, food, crafts, a parade and a three-day music festival. The event is sponsored by the Glenpool Chamber of Commerce. For a more detailed schedule of events, visit tulsaworld.com/glenpoolBGdays.

Woodcarvers World Show
The Eastern Oklahoma Woodcarvers Association is hosting the Woodcarvers World Show on Friday and Saturday at the Union Eighth Grade Center, 6501 S. Garnett in Broken Arrow. Displays of woodcarving representing artists from various states will be part of the event.
Admission is $3, free for children 12 and younger. Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Woodcarving seminars and a carving contest will also be part of the event. Vendors will sell wood and tools.

Silent films

The Theatre Organ Society in Tulsa will screen three short silent films at 7 p.m. Friday at Tulsa Technology Center, 129th East. Ave. and 111th St.
The 1928 film “Old Grey Hoss” will be screened, with Phil Judkins accompanying on the pipe organ. Bill Rowland will provide accompaniment for the 1926 film “Saturday Afternoon.” Lynda Ramsey will accompany “The High Sign,” from 1921.
Admission is free, and popcorn and lemonade will be provided.

Tulsa To Do
