Can't get enough Woody Guthrie? Check out one of these events.

It's no wonder. ...

Kids, and even parents, who are reluctant to exercise will appreciate this new event from Tulsa Parks.

Think of it as the "Amazing Race" for families. It's a race that challenges both the body and the mind, and it's also a great opportunity to bond with your kid without forcing it.

Tulsa Parks' Giant and Sprout Runabout isn't until Sept. 10, but the registration deadline is Saturday.

Kids who like fun runs will love this race, which builds an adventure aspect into it. Prepare to walk, run and do other light physical activity.

Studies show that kids who exercise are more likely to have parents who exercise, so here's an opportunity for you both to get off the coach and onto the hilly terrain at McClure Park.

Participants must bring a camera.

What: Giant and Sprout Runabout

When: 8 a.m. Sept. 10

Where: McClure Park, 7440 E. Seventh St.

Cost: $30 per parent/child team

To register: Registration deadline is noon Saturday. Call 918-669-6355 or go to tulsaworld.com/tulsaparks.
