Mindy (Mindy Kaling, right) recalls meeting her ex-boyfriend Tom (guest-star Bill Hader, left) in the premiere of the new comedy "The Mindy Project," debuting at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday on Fox, channel 23, cable 5. BETH DUBBER/Fox
Tulsa stars are helping launch the new fall TV season.
First up, former Tulsan Bill Hader has a guest-spot as Dr. Mindy Lahiri's ex-boyfriend in the new Fox comedy series "The Mindy Project," debuting at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday on channel 23, cable 5.
In the pilot episode, viewers meet Dr. Mindy Lahiri (Mindy Kaling) who is drunk and disorderly after making an epic toast at her ex-boyfriend's wedding. But that incident is a rude awakening and the hopeless romantic vows to make some drastic changes to get her personal and professional life back on track.
FYI: Hader had our vote for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy series for his multiple characters on "Saturday Night Live" but he didn't win an Emmy Sunday. Boo, hiss.)
On Wednesday, former Tulsan Jeanne Tripplehorn makes her debut appearance as Alex Blake, the newest member of the Behavioral Analysis Unit on "Criminal Minds." It returns for its eighth season at 8 p.m. Wednesday on CBS, channel 6.
In the season opener, a Texas prisoner escapes during a transfer and leaves behind victims with his unique trademark, sewing their mouths shut - a signature the BAU remembers as unique to the UnSub "The Silencer."
While they investigate who he was and who he's become, the BAU also gets to know the newest member of the team, linguistics expert Blake (Emmy-nominated actress Tripplehorn).
Kristin Chenoweth makes her debut in her short-lived role as a political reporter Peggy Byrne on the season opener of "The Good Wife" at 8 p.m. Sunday on channel 6.
Broken Arrow native Chenoweth was injured while filming the CBS legal drama when a piece of lighting equipment fell and other on the head knocking her to the concrete. The actress and singer was diagnosed with a skull fracture and was treated for rib, back and neck injuries related to the accident, she said earlier this month.
As a result, she had to give up the role on "The Good Wife."
In the season premiere episode, Alicia goes on the offensive when Zach is targeted by an overzealous state trooper. Meanwhile, after her estranged husband tracked her down in last season’s finale, Kalinda decides to stand her ground after being tracked down by her ex-husband and Diane and Will delve into the firm’s financial problems.
Chenoweth's character is there to do her own digging into the Florrick campaign and the marriage between recently separated Alicia (Julianna Margulies) and Peter (Chris Noth).
And, even though you won't see her on camera, former Tulsan Sarah Tell Roach, is the principal stand-in for the Sophie Gerard character on "Last Resort," premiering at 7 p.m. Thursday on ABC, channel 8.
A graduate of Union High School and Northeastern State University with a degree in nutrition, Tell and her husband are stationed in Hawaii. She previously appeared as an extra in two "Hawaii Five-O."
Here's Kristin Chenoweth in "The Good Wife" promo for CBS.
Jeanne Tripplehorn makes her debut on CBS' "Criminal Minds" Wednesday.

Rita Sherrow grew up with TV. Yes, it was the ever-present “sister” from another techno mother. At first look, it was instant "Like." From then on, the TV had to be on in every room while she studied, elementary school through college. An Air Force brat, she attended school in three states (Oklahoma, Montana and Georgia) and two foreign countries (Germany and Bermuda) and graduated from Broken Arrow High School and the University of Tulsa with a degree in journalism/advertising. She first interned in the advertising world but, when a J-School professor (who also covered politics for the Tulsa World) offered her an internship at the newspaper, she took him up on it. The rest is history. She has served as bridal editor, senior features writer for the women’s section, food editor and is television editor of the Tulsa World. In addition to writing about TV shows and interviewing the stars for “Scene” stories, she also writes a TV column for Weekend and produces the Sunday TV World listings magazine.
