Tulsa looks cool in "Man v. Food Nation"

Joe Momma's, the Spudder and Bill's Jumbo Burgers just got busier.
The three – plus a quick introduction to Ann's Bakery – were featured on Wednesday's episode of "Man v. Food Nation."
It was a fun episode for Tulsans. Host Adam Richman showed the skyline in the background, visited downtown’s Center of the Universe and showed America what Tulsa is made of, which, in Travel Channel terms, seemed to be beef, burgers and super-hot pizza.
Fans of the show take Richman's recommendations seriously. So you can bet viewers all across the country were taking note of where to eat the next time they're passing through Tulsa. The really rabid fans will make a special trip to Tulsa just to eat at Joe Momma's, the Spudder and Bill's Jumbo.
If you've never been to the Spudder, you're likely making plans to go ASAP to order the Gusher, the bone-in prime rib Richman raved about. The same goes for Bill's. Those burgers, with the fried onions and gooey cheese, did burgers – and Tulsa – proud.
The episode will certainly also be sending people to Joe Momma's, though not necessarily for the Incinerator, the pizza devoured by Tulsa firefighter Kyle Younger during the food challenge segment. Younger accepted and completed the challenge to eat an entire large Incinerator in one hour, without leaving the table and without anything to drink. The Incinerator is covered with wasabi red sauce, sliced hot links, pepperoni, salami, ham, crushed black pepper, diced jalapenos, sliced habaneros and a ghost pepper Sriracha swirl.
I talked to Younger the day after he completed the challenge, and he was still shaking off the heat from that pizza. He said he didn’t think God intended any single person to eat that amount of food.
"It's a bad dude," he said.
Those who have been keeping up with the Tulsa “Man v. Food Nation” coverage may wonder why they didn't see the downtown restaurant Elote. Don't worry. Elote will be in a Route 66–themed episode of the show later this summer. Read the Tulsa World for the announcement of that episode's time and day.

The thing that embarrassed me was how run down the Center of the Universe looked. They show one landmark and it looked terrible.

It was amazing how Man vs. Food came to Tulsa and showed the worst possible restaurants. So many great places to eat here and that's what they showed. Bummer.
