This summer's been hot, and many have taken notice of Tulsa.

Thedailybeast.com ranked the summer's hottest among the 100 largest cities based on criteria including average temperature compared to the normal temperatures and the number of days higher than normal temperatures.

Tulsa ranked No. 4 behind the top-ranked city, Lubbock, Texas.

The website cited our 48 days with above normal temperatures since June, as well as being 6.4 degrees above normal on average in June.

Check out the list here. Spoiler alert: Oklahoma City beat out Tulsa by two spots with its 50 days above normal temperatures and having average temperatures 7.7 degrees above normal during the same time periods.

As I write this, the Tulsa National Weather Service declared a 107-degree high so far today, meaning that we broke the 1936 record of 106 degrees for July 27. This ties our previous high for July (and the year, for that matter), set on both July 10 and July 24.

And still no precipitation. Sorry.

BUT, please check the forecast here for the (no joke!) chance of showers and thunderstorms later this week, along with plenty more highs in the 100s.
