If you need help with Thanksgiving dinner, there’s an app for that.
There’s also someone you can call who cares.
Or at least they are being paid to work, take calls from cooks in crisis and come up with answers.
If you want to turn to your smartphone for tips, try Epicurious which is available on Android Mobile, B & N Nook Color, Windows Phone and iPhone. Epicurious is an award-winning, free application that offers over 28,000 professionally-tested and created recipes.
The app categorizes recipes to make searching for a recipe easy, using simple phrases such as "Thanksgiving" or "side dishes."
With more than four million downloads, BigOven is one of the top mobile food apps available. It's advertised as the top cooking app on Android and Windows Phone, and one of the top cooking apps for iPhone and iPad. Big Oven is also available on BlackBerry or Windows devices.
The Dinner Spinner on Allrecipes.com allows you to access favorite recipes on the go, find recipes by ingredient and spin the wheel for a quick application. It’s available on iPhone, Android and Windows Phone.
And, if you are interested in recipes that Tulsa cooks are making for Thanksgiving, watch for the food page in Wednesday’s Scene section of the Tulsa World.
Allrecipes.com queried its database to revealed Tulsa’s top dishes.
Local authorities at U.S. Cellular say that the apps can assist in planning, preparing and executing everything for the Thanksgiving feast.
"We know our customers would rather spend more time with family than in the kitchen, which is why we are excited to share applications that can enhance and simplify their Thanksgiving," said Tommy Arens, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in Oklahoma.
"With our unique rewards program, cutting-edge devices and great holiday deals, we're making it easy for chefs and their families to switch to U.S. Cellular and join the happiest customers in wireless."

Food Writer Nicole Marshall Middleton
joined the Tulsa World in May 1993 after graduating from Oklahoma State University. She has covered crime, city government and general assignment beats during that time - but mostly crime. But when she isn’t at work, Nicole is a devoted food hobbyist. She enjoys meal planning and cooking with her husband, Steve, every day of the week and on holidays it’s a family affair. When the opportunity to become the food writer at the Tulsa World presented itself in the summer of 2011, Nicole jumped at it. She is excited to explore a new side of Tulsa and make the transition from crime to cuisine. .
