Two ways of listening to jazz

The Quartet San Francisco performed with the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra in January -- the 29th to be exact -- and was supposed to perform the following week as part of Choregus Productions' season.

The "Blizzards of February" -- and yes, it still seems odd to use the plural of "blizzard" when talking about Oklahoma weather -- intervened, and the quartet's second show, which was to feature its extensive jazz repertoire, was postponed.

That concert will now be Sunday -- 17 April -- at the Tulsa PAC's Williams Theater, 110 E. Second St. Showtime is 3 p.m. and tickets are $30-$35. Call 918-596-7111 or online at tulsaworld.com/mytix.

The Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame is bringing back the pianist Eldar as part of its Sunday concert series.

The Grammy nominated performer will be debuting his latest album, "Three Stories," at this concert, and will be signing copies of the CD following the show.

Eldar performs at 5 p.m. Sunday at the Jazz Depot, 111 E. First St. Tickets are $15-$20, call 918-281-8600 or online at tulsaworld.com/mytix.
