Toby Keith admitted he’d posted something “stupid” to his official website in recent weeks. That item is the song and video for “
Red Solo Cup,” his tribute to the party-crowd staple.
The tune is also part of his new album "
Clancy's Tavern," to drop Oct. 24.
The video shows Keith wading through a crowd of college-age partiers, red cup in hand. Guest appearances include pitcher Roger Clemens, Ted Nugent, Jeff Dunham, Craig Ferguson, Larry Bird and Eric Church, among others.
“It does everybody the same way it did me,” he said on his website of the iconic 16-oz. plastic beverage cups.
“They’ll say, ‘That’s the stupidest song in the world and I can’t get it out of my head.’ Sometimes it’s good for the world to hear something like that.”
