Beyonce talks about her struggle to be both a private person and a Grammy-winning singer, entrepreneur and actress in the new HBO documentary "Beyonce." The documentary, which she directed and executive-produced, debuts Feb. 16.

"HBO has a history of pushing every boundary with class and authenticity,” said the world-wide phenomenon who is married to Jay-Z and is the mother of Blue Ivy Carter who turns one next month.

The film includes home video shot on her laptop, including a flash of her bare baby bump, and intermixed with performance footage, according to video posted on eonline.com. It's a personal introduction to the private woman who talks about "the realities of celebrity, the refuge she finds onstage and the transcendent joy of becoming a mother," according to HBO.

"I always battle with 'How much do I reveal about myself?'" says the 31-year-old in the video. "If I'm scared, be scared. Allow it. Release it."

The film also shows her childhood in Houston through home movies and reveals her close family bond and the challenges she faced when she decided to manage her career and build her own company, Parkwood Entertainment. And, it also captures the physical and emotional demands she faces in the studio, preparing for live performances, running a business and her family life, including her return to the spotlight after the birth of her daughter in January 2012.

Also, the film's executive producer, she said purposely chose HBO for the film.

"Some of my favorite shows are on HBO, so I am excited that my film will be part of its bold programming," she told the pay cable network. "This film was so personal to me, it had to have the right home."

It premieres February 16 on cable 300 and will repeat throughout the month.
