With the Bassmaster Classic expected to bring in an estimated 100,000 visitors this weekend, some may be looking to get away from the large crowds for a few hours.
Consider a trip to the Will Rogers Museum in Claremore or the Cherokee National Supreme Court Museum.
Will Rogers MuseumWill Rogers Memorial Museum, at 1720 W. Will Rogers Blvd. in Claremore, will offer this weekend's visitors a sneak preview of “The Final Journey.” The new exhibit shows the final nine days of Will Rogers’ journey, which ended Aug. 15, 1935, in an Alaska plane crash.
Hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. daily, and admission is $5.

Cherokee National Supreme Court MuseumThe Cherokee Nation is celebrating the 185th anniversary of the Cherokee Phoenix by offering free admission to the Cherokee National Supreme Court Museum, Thursday through Saturday. The museum features an exhibit highlighting the history of the Phoenix, which is the first newspaper of the Cherokee Nation and the first Native American newspaper to print in both its native language and English, according to a Cherokee Nation press release.
The history of Cherokee journalism is one of the main focuses within the Cherokee National Supreme Court Museum, 122 E. Keetoowah St. in Tahlequah.
