I hope everyone had an absolutely wonderful Thanksgiving and was able to enjoy at least some of the absolutely fantastic weather we had here for the holiday.

And, I hope you don’t have to travel tonight. If so, I hope you have new windshield wipers.

After a monstrous rain on Monday, when nearly an inch fell in Tulsa, more rain is forecast for tonight. The National Weather Service says it’s going to happen—100 percent.

Driving in the rain always increases the danger of driving, which is not what is needed on one of the busiest travel weeks of the year. At least it won’t be snow or freezing rain—take solace in that.

Speaking of monstrous rain, here is the most recent drought map from the U.S. Drought Monitor.

Take a look again. What’s that? Part of the state is NOT in drought conditions?!?!?! Woo Hoo! I mean, it’s only 5.1 percent of the state—very east-central part—that is in no drought, but still. It’s progress.

More than 6 inches fell in that part of the state, with about 8 inches in some locations.

Only 14.4 percent of the state is in the worst drought category, which is much better than the 69 percent in September.

Tonight’s rain will also be pretty widespread, though not at much as Monday. So, further drought improvement is likely.

Behind that rain? Cooler, but gorgeous late fall weather. Soak it in.
