Labor Day is just a week away, which means summer is winding down. It's somewhat of a slow week in terms of things going on, but it's certainly not dead.

Festival season is fast approaching, so in the next few weeks, check here for all the details on some of the most popular festivals in Tulsa, including Greek Fest, Shalomfest and the Rock n Rib Festival.

Until then, here are the happenings everyone is going to be talking about this week:

Tuesday


Tulsa Shock
Coming off of two straight wins, the Tulsa Shock is ready to do it again. Basketball fans went crazy after the surprise win Sunday, so expect to see loyal fans and first-timers at the game Tuesday vs. Phoenix.
When: 7 p.m. Tuesday and again at 7 p.m. Friday vs. Seattle
Where: BOK Center, 200 S. Denver Ave.

Wednesday


Novel talk
Tulsa Reads continues digging in to the works of Anna Quindlen with a novel talk on "One True Thing." The book, which was turned into a movie starring Meryl Streep and Renee Zellweger, delves into the complex bonds of family. Discussing the book will be moderator Teresa Miller, executive director of the Oklahoma Center for Poets and Writers, and panelists Claudia Arthrell, Marguerite Chapman and Kelley Scott.
When: 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Where: Aaronson Auditorium of Central Library, Fourth Street and Denver Avenue
Cost: Free

Friday


Marie Osmond
Marie Osmond spends most of her time in Las Vegas where she stars in her popular variety-style show with her brother, Donny. But Friday she'll be in Tulsa, performing at River Spirit. Fans who have loved Marie since her "Donny and Marie Show" days won't want to miss it.
When: 7 p.m.
Where: River Spirit Event Center, 81st Street and Riverside Parkway
Cost: Tickets start at $75.

Saturday


Drillers
It's the final homestand of the year, and the Drillers are pulling out all the stops.
Saturday is grand slam day, as the Drillers play the N.W. Arkansas Naturals. If you haven't made it to a game yet this season, now’s your chance. Add to the fun by stopping for a burger and fries at Fat Guy’s.
When: 7:05 p.m. Gates open at 6 p.m.
Where: ONEOK Field , 201 N. Elgin Ave.

I like Anna Quindlen-is that like a book club where they discuss different books each time they meet?

Fat Guy's has great fries and lots of different ketchups. Drillers games are fun and the ballpark is really cool-great view of downtown!

Not much for Marie, but my sister loves her and will probably go to the concert.

Wonder how many cracked windshields will be in the parking lot at Marie's concert. . .

Tulsa To Do
