Take the kids to see "The Adventures of Tintin."


Make ornaments and wrapping paper and take a nature walk at the Oxley Nature Center Wednesday.

Kids are out of school. Many people are taking the last of their vacation days for the year. It's a good time to get out and have some fun.

In between shopping, baking, wrapping and partying, here are some fun picks for the week.

Monday: Rock for the Homeless
It's a concert for a good cause. Rock for the Homeless will feature Stars Go Dim, with the Union High School Jazz Band, RadioRadio and Chase Stites. It benefits John 3:16, Youth Services of Tulsa, the Day Center for the Homeless and Iron Gate.
When: Doors open at 6 p.m.
Where: Cain's Ballroom, 423 N. Main St.

Tuesday: "A Christmas Carol"
It's a classic. And this American Theatre Company production of Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" has become a Tulsa holiday tradition. A beautiful set and great actors make this a show worth seeing.
When: 7:30 Tuesday through Friday
Where: Tulsa PAC, Third Street and Cincinnati Avenue
Cost: Tickets are $15 to $30

Wednesday: Winter Solstice celebration
Here's a fun and off-the-beaten-path activity for kids while they're on winter break. Oxley Nature Center is having a winter solstice celebration, where kids can make ornaments out of natural materials, wrapping paper using leaf rubbings and treats for the Oxley wildlife. Kids can listen to a story and take a walk through the woods. Oxley will also have hot chocolate and cider.
When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Oxley Nature Center, 6700 Mohawk Blvd.
Cost: Free with donation of canned food for the Food Bank.

Thursday: "The Adventures of Tintin"
Before you head out for last-minute shopping, take the kids to the matinee of "The Adventures of Tintin." See it on the IMAX at the AMC Southroads, at 41st Street and Yale Avenue, for an even better show.

Friday: Rhema Christmas lights
Park the car and walk through the more than 2 million lights of the Rhema Christmas lights display. The bridge, with more than 90,000 lights alone, is a fun part of the display, with lights set to Christmas music. Expect a crowd Friday night, the start of Christmas weekend.
When: 5:30 to 11:30 p.m. through New Year's Day
Where: Rhema Bible Church, 1025 W. Kenosha St. in Broken Arrow
Cost: Free

Saturday: "White Christmas"
Spend Christmas Eve watching a classic holiday movie on the big screen. The Circle Cinema is showing "White Christmas." Tickets are free for all members of the armed service.
When: 1 and 5:40 p.m.
Where: Circle Cinema, 10 S. Lewis Ave.
Cost: $6.50 for the matinee and $8.50 for the evening show
