It's loud. It's big. It's Monster Jam, Friday and Saturday at the BOK.

As is typical after the holidays, Tulsans are easing into a busy calendar of events.

After all the go-go-go of last month, many of us are content to be home. But, that doesn't mean you can't find something to do. There's still plenty happening around town this week, including everything from the Monster Jam show at the BOK to a family friendly book club, complete with balloon animals.

Monday: Last day of Winterfest
It's the last day of Winterfest. That means it's your last chance – until next year – to skate on the 60-by-150-foot ice rink. If skating isn't your thing, take a carriage ride or drink hot cocoa and eat cookies.
When: Ice rink is open from noon to 10 p.m.
Where: Outside the BOK Center at Second Street and Denver Avenue
Cost: Free to enter. $8 to skate, which includes skate rental.

Tuesday: Teen book month
Want to develop a love of reading among your teenagers? The South Broken Arrow Library is having a fun event to pair teenagers with books to suit them. They say it's a chance to make a literary love connection. Teens who let the librarians know their likes and dislikes will be paired with a book. It's for ages 13 to 18.
When: Stop by anytime during the month of January. Tuesday's a good day to come, since school starts for many Tulsa and Broken Arrow kids on Wednesday.
Where: South Broken Arrow Library, 3600 S. Chestnut
Info: Call 918-549-7662

Wednesday: Last week for "Magnificent Vision"
If you haven’t seen the exhibit "Magnificent Vision: Two Centuries of European Masterworks from the Speed Museum," it's time. It's the final week for this exhibit featuring more than 70 paintings from artists including Rembrandt and Rubens.
When: On display through Sunday
Where: Philbrook Museum, 2727 S. Rockford Road
Info: tulsaworld.com/philbrook

Thursday: Multicultural Diversity Festival
Introduce your family to the cultures of the world. The International Cultures for Education PTA and Lynn Wood Elementary are presenting this festival, where you can walk through the displays of different countries, tasting the food and learning about the culture and history. Performances will be part of the evening.
When: 6 to 9 p.m.
Where: Tulsa Technology Center Broken Arrow Campus, 4600 S. Olive in Broken Arrow
Info: 918-259-4430

Friday: Monster Jam
It's a show jam packed with 10,000-pound, 12-foot-tall monster trucks. Even if destruction isn't normally your idea of a good time, you can't deny the fun in watching monster trucks barrel over cars and machines. This one's a family friendly show, so kids are welcome.
When: 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday
Where: BOK Center, Second Street and Denver Avenue
Cost: Tickets start at $27

Saturday: Joe Momma's Book Club
Start the year with the fun, weekly book club at Joe Momma's Pizza. Kids can gather for a book reading, pick out a balloon animal, make crafts and play with their own slab of pizza dough.
When: 11:30 a.m.
Where: Joe Momma's, 112 S. Elgin Ave.
Cost: Free
