Monday: Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade
The Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Parade is a Tulsa tradition and a chance to celebrate the life of the civil rights hero. The 11 a.m. parade is typically attended by many students, including school and church groups. If you're going, one of the best spots to catch the parade is near John Hope Franklin Boulevard and North Greenwood Avenue. Parking is available in the student parking lot at the OSU-Tulsa campus.
You can start the day with a free breakfast at the Metropolitan Tulsa Urban League, 240 E. Apache St. Breakfast is from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Tuesday: Jazz at Gilcrease
Jazz night at Gilcrease means great music in a beautiful setting. It happens the third Tuesday of each month.
When: 6 p.m.
Where: Vista Room at Gilcrease Museum, 1400 Gilcrease Museum Road

Wednesday: Travels with Tulsans lecture
Here's a good event for those looking to stretch their minds and horizons. "Obscure Historical Israeli Sites" is part of the Travels with Tulsans series at Central Library. The presentation will take you through Megiddo, with photos of ancient civilizations and Roman ruins. It's a good event for homeschooling parents and their teens.
When: 12:10 to 12:50 p.m.
Where: Aaronson Auditorium at Central Library, Fourth Street and Denver Avenue

Thursday: "Where the Wild Things Are"
This beloved children’s book comes alive in a short play. It's for kids ages 5 to 12.
When: 3 to 4 p.m.
