What a crock!

As I tell y'all in my non-Cinco de Mayo-themed column Tuesday, I just got a crock pot -- LOVE IT! I haven't used it yet, but it looks great on my countertop.

Anyway, I asked if any of y'all might have a healthy (or not) crock pot recipe to share. If so, please tell me about it.

Peace, love and pots-o-somethin' ... xoxo

The beauty of a crock pot is that you can literally put anyhting in it and it comes out great. Once in awhile, I will think that I am heading home to dinner, but then go out. The good ol crock pot keeps slow cooking the dinner for the next night and it is still great.

The cooking aromas are a plus too.
Glad to hear you haven't burned your house down, Arbythree, as I frequently change evening plans. Would hate to do that with something stewin' in the ol' pot. But I'm loving it! ... j.a.w.

I LOVE my crock pot! I have a "smart Pot" from Rival, I think, and it automatically goes to warm after the time set is done, so no burning down the house! I love to put on a roast or a ham, on low, when I go to bed Saturday night and wake up to that wonderful aroma of Sunday dinner the next morning. Have fun with it! Love ya JAW!!

While other kids were watching "The Smurfs," Scene Writer Jason Ashley Wright was tuned in to "Style with Elsa Klensch." By fourth grade, he knew he wanted to write, and spent almost three years publishing a weekly teen-oriented magazine, Teen-Zine -- circulation: 2. After earning a degree in journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi, he became the medical reporter and teen board coordinator for the Hattiesburg (Miss.) American, a Gannett newspaper. Eight months later, with visions of Elsa dancing in his head, he applied for the fashion writer position at the Tulsa World, where he began working on Aug. 3, 1998. He is now a general assignment reporter for Scene.
