What are your favorite $10-or-less beauty finds?

I've had readers tell me they love the "pink and green mascara" from Maybelline -- and they love the $4 price tag. What's YOUR favorite drug-store find that costs less than $10? Hmm? Say it louder, I can't hear you ...
I'm a product junkie.
I've told y'all this before, and it's ALL my job's fault. Having had the title "fashion writer" for 13 lucky years, I've been able to try hundreds of hair and skin-care products, plus fragrances, as have some local guinea pigs.
But I don't always get the stuff that some of you love. So riddle me this, sweet readers: What are YOUR favorite drug-store finds that cost less than $10? Be it a foundation, mascara, lip stick, whatever, kindly holler at me via
jason.wright@tulsaworld.com
and let me know.
Peace, love and drug stores ... XOXO

One of the only products I feel strongly enough about to evangelize is Sally Hansen's 4-in-1 Complete Care nail treatment. My tragically unhealthy nails (I was a nail biter well into my college years) actually started growing immediately, and they became strong enough to sustain the growth. I pay only $9 and feel I get much more than my money's worth.

A thick paste of baking soda with a little water is a great facial scrub/exfoliater. I've been using it in the shower for 30 years and I have great skin. A box of baking soda is incredibly cheap.

Don't need any Great Lash mascara but would appreciate your doing the same "theme" for men, Jason! And no, I don't have any recommendations myself. Just thinking about using men's products as these are becoming more available. So, thought I'd make the suggestion about your finding some "favorite $10-or-less" men's personal care products. Thanks!

St. Ives Apricot Scrub changed my life. Of course, it became too harsh, but the Target brand one works great without the damage.

Thanks for the suggestions! And 223600, I will put men's products for $10 or less on my to-do list!

While other kids were watching "The Smurfs," Scene Writer Jason Ashley Wright was tuned in to "Style with Elsa Klensch." By fourth grade, he knew he wanted to write, and spent almost three years publishing a weekly teen-oriented magazine, Teen-Zine -- circulation: 2. After earning a degree in journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi, he became the medical reporter and teen board coordinator for the Hattiesburg (Miss.) American, a Gannett newspaper. Eight months later, with visions of Elsa dancing in his head, he applied for the fashion writer position at the Tulsa World, where he began working on Aug. 3, 1998. He is now a general assignment reporter for Scene.
