What color is your fridge? What about 20 years ago?

Refrigerators that have seen better days

GE released a retrospective this week that brought back memories. It displayed the trends in appliance colors during the last 100 years.

I currently have a black side-by-side refrigerator.

But I seriously cannot remember the colors of the many refrigerators of my past. Can you?

As a child, I seem to remember a harvest gold fridge and perhaps a brown of some sort.

In various apartments I lived in during and after college I had at least one or two white fridges.

And I have coveted some very pretty refrigerators with glass doors. They make the food look so formal, like a still life.

Check out GE's timeline showing the color trends. Click here.

We had an avocado green one when we first married. Beyond ugly...

The last fridge repairman to my house stopped mid-dining room and said, "Harvest Gold?, my God man." One $23 capacitor and it's humming right along :)

I have a stainless steel one now, but I have a solid black one out in my garage that will never die.
