I suspect I'm not the only person whose blood pressure goes up a little when I have to read the quotes from members of Congress pontificating about health-care reform.
I don't care which side of the issue you are on, you've got to be a little annoyed when reading the paper or watching these guys on TV. The folks with arguably the best insurance coverage in the world are deciding about the kind of health care my family and I will receive in the future.
Here's an idea: Let those guys subscribe to my health insurance for a while and then see how they feel about reform. I'm not complaining, I have really good insurance here at the paper. But it is nowhere near as good as what members of Congress have.
So, come on senators and representatives, give up your taxpayer-paid insurance for a little while and see how the rest of us live. They worry about taxpayers paying for universal coverage for everyone and criticize how government-run programs work and they are getting government-run, taxpayer funded health insurance.
There goes my blood pressure again.
