What to do on a Sunday afternoon

See "A Christmas Carol" at the PAC.

Pick up stocking stuffers at Cracker Barrel.

Go to the zoo for free. The zoo is open until 5 p.m. Sunday.

Forget lazy Sunday afternoons. With a week until Christmas, most of us are trying to pack in as much as we can before the big day.

You're not likely to need any help finding something to do on this busy day, but if so...

Shopping
All of Tulsa's shopping centers are booming today. That means big crowds and lines, but if you're a pro shopper, you probably secretly like it. If you're shopping at Utica Square, take a minute to look at the Nutcracker displays. If you're in Tulsa Hills, run into the gift shop at the Cracker Barrel. It's a fun place for stocking stuffers. If you're at Woodland Hills, take the glass elevator (near Starbucks) for a view of the mall on one of the busiest days of the year.

Shows
There's still time to catch an afternoon or evening performance of several shows that run on Sundays, including "The Nutcracker," "A Christmas Carol" and "The Eight: Reindeer Monologues." Go to tulsaworld.com/pac for showtimes.

Free Tulsa Zoo admission
Go to the Tula Zoo for free today, with the donation of a new, unwrapped toy. The toys will go to Toys for Tots, which is wonderful for so many kids. But free admission is a great deal for all Tulsa families, as regular admission is $8 for adults.

Ice skating
The weather outside is not-at-all frightful, making it a good day for ice skating at Winterfest. The rink will be ice cold, of course, but, as long as you don't have too many falls, you can enjoy the nice weather while skating or wandering around downtown. Winterfest takes place in front of the BOK Center.
