Where's that Boulevard?

I noticed on a recent restaurant menu that the beers were divided into two groups, Domestic and Imported, with the Domestics being $3 and the Imported $5.

Among the Importeds was Boulevard Wheat. Since when did Kansas City, where that particular beer is brewed, leave the United States?

I know restaurants do this to put the beers in the appropriate price point, not place of origin. For instance, I've seen Sam Adams listed among the imports as well.

Seems it would make more sense to list them as Premium and Ultra Premium, or something along that line. I think I will have a cool one and give that some thought.

Way to go! Now, Moose Drool, from Missoula, is a great domestic brew, but it is imported from Montana. What's a guy to do? Just like the fellow with the Mercury Grand Marquis sedan, with a "Buy American" labor union bumper sticker. He was not friendly when I reminded him that his car was an import from Canada, while my Honda was made in Ohio.

um where is the restaurant reviews? how about review the restaurant while ranting about the beer labeling? the thing about it is though it is a domestic its a craft brew. and most dont understand craft brews being different then commercial brewing.

I had a similar experience several years ago in Amarillo, TX. The beer in question was Shiner Bock, again listed as an import. Geez, how much more domestic can you get, when it's brewed in the same state?
