Where's your favorite place for coffee?

A latte at the newly opened Foolish Things Coffee Co. at 1001 S. Main St. MIKE SIMONS/Tulsa World

I'm not an avid coffee drinker, but I love the stuff.

In the summer, it's just too hot, so I stick with the occasional Starbucks Frappuccino -- venti, typically, with no whipped cream. Those are calories better saved for cheese or chocolate.

But once the weather cools even more, and October weekend mornings necessitate long sleeves, I start drinking coffee. Half the time, I make it at home; but I love going to different coffee shops.

The Starbucks at Utica Square is a favorite of mine, mostly because I love Utica Square. When the line's too long there, I just walk across the courtyard to Wild Fork and get a coffee to go. Otherwise, I love Topeca coffee by the Mayo Hotel, and I can't wait to try the new Foolish Things Coffee Co. at 10th and Main. Seriously, what better place for me to get coffee?

But what's your favorite place for a hot cup of Joe? And what do you order? Spill the beans, please ...

Peace, love and finely ground things ... XOXO

I'm a big iced coffee fan which I make at home but if we go out for the two "C's" ( coffee and conversation) we like The Coffee House on 15th or Shades of Brown on Peoria and Panera is always good too.

Gypsy Coffee House on North Cincinnati, if you want to go out for coffee. Me, I'd rather stay in and brew a little "Double Diamond, Extra Bold" with a homemade lemon scone on the side

Doubleshot or Gypsy get my vote.
Any local place gets my business before Starbucks.

The Gypsy, hands down, for the best coffee in town, brewing Nordaggios Roasts they have been serving Tulsa for 14 years in the Brady arts District.

Living Wright

While other kids were watching "The Smurfs," Scene Writer Jason Ashley Wright was tuned in to "Style with Elsa Klensch." By fourth grade, he knew he wanted to write, and spent almost three years publishing a weekly teen-oriented magazine, Teen-Zine -- circulation: 2. After earning a degree in journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi, he became the medical reporter and teen board coordinator for the Hattiesburg (Miss.) American, a Gannett newspaper. Eight months later, with visions of Elsa dancing in his head, he applied for the fashion writer position at the Tulsa World, where he began working on Aug. 3, 1998. He is now a general assignment reporter for Scene.
