Bryan Singer recently tweeted that Hugh Jackman has been confirmed for the new X-Men movie. He'll join Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen.
Famke Janssen was recently interviewed by
SuperHeroHype about her possible return to the franchise. She said she has a desire to reprise her role but hasn't been contacted yet. Alan Cumming has also expressed an interest in reprising his role as Nightcrawler in the new X-Men movie, but there has yet to be any news on that front.
What I am concerned about, though, is that we have heard nothing about the main character and central role of "Days of Future Past": Shadowcat, or Kitty Pride. There has been no word as to whether Ellen Page will play Kitty Pride, or if she will even exist in the story because her character appeared as a young child in "X-Men 3."
I hope we hear something about the crucial, central role of one of the most famous comic book sagas ever.
We still have yet to hear whether or not Rebecca Romijn or Kelsey Grammer will reprise their roles of Mystique and Beast. It might be a longshot, but we could see Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult in 'older' make up for the film. Since it was already established in the First Class movie that Mystique chose Romijn's image as a person she thought was beautiful, so it would make sense if she 'ironically' took an older form of human-like Jennifer Lawrence as a 'retro' skin. If that doesn't creep you out.
As for the Wolverine movie, Hugh Jackman stated that it takes place after "X-Men 3," so my hopes of X3 being somewhat ignored (Jean, Cyclops and Professor X dying, Kitty Pride existing, Mystique and Magneto becoming human) are for naught. However it is possible that the entirety of the first class movies are in an alternate timeline so they can do whatever they want.
One can only hope.
