Zoanette Johnson, Angela Miller among Top 20 girls on 'American Idol'

Yes, I know this is the same picture I showed y'all last night, but I couldn't find anything new of Tulsa's own Zoanette Johnson (singing above), who made it to the girls' Top 20 on Thursday night's episode of "Idol."

Surprise, surprise, it seems Tulsa is going to be represented after all on "American Idol," as Zoanette Johnson made it into the Top 20 girls on tonight's show.

With Ryan Seacrest narrating before a commercial break that hers would be "the most shocking performance of the season," the show -- the final night of the girls' Hollywood Round -- came back with Zoanette changing her song choice for the solo part of this leg of the competition.

"Shhh, I made it up onstage," she told the camera.

As the contestants had the opportunity to do their own thing vs. pick someone else's song to sing, Zoanette decided -- at the very last minute -- to sing her own song. And by "her own song," I mean something she tee-totally made up on the ding-dang stage.

And it was actually entertaining -- like some kinda crazy musical-improv theater.

Miss Z, who sat at a drum set, even lost her stick at one point, stopped in the middle of her song, then picked it back up, ending with a war yelp -- and the judges apparently dug it.

"I am bowing down at your feet today," Nicki told the wild-haired 20-year-old. Now, she -- and 19 other young ladies -- will be joining the Top 20 guys for the live semi-finalists competition in Las Vegas starting next week.

Aside from her, my favorite moment of the night was Angela Miller singing her own song, "You Set Me Free," which was absolutely gorgeous. I totally agree with Keith: I want to buy that song and listen to it now in my car. Or whatever he said.

Also singing her own song was Kez Ban, but she didn't make it through to the Top 20.

"I'm a square peg in a round hole," she said -- right before admitting she wanted to do all this because her mom's a fan of "Idol." That was pretty sweet, made me wanna hug her.

But other than Josh Holiday ripping his pants while singing "Georgia On My Mind" when the judges were trying to eliminate eight of the 28 from the guys' group to form a Top 20, there were no other big highlights for me.

So here's what the spoiler sites have been claiming are the Top 20 lists, and they seem to match up (although I haven't seen anything official yet from Fox):

While other kids were watching "The Smurfs," Scene Writer Jason Ashley Wright was tuned in to "Style with Elsa Klensch." By fourth grade, he knew he wanted to write, and spent almost three years publishing a weekly teen-oriented magazine, Teen-Zine -- circulation: 2. After earning a degree in journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi, he became the medical reporter and teen board coordinator for the Hattiesburg (Miss.) American, a Gannett newspaper. Eight months later, with visions of Elsa dancing in his head, he applied for the fashion writer position at the Tulsa World, where he began working on Aug. 3, 1998. He is now a general assignment reporter for Scene.
