dubya dubya day 1 // jack lelanne // i am spartacus!

And just after ONE DAY on Weight Watchers, I can now fit in my yellow Speedo again! Kidding -- God rest Jack LeLanne.
This is Jack LeLanne's great-great-great-great-great-great grandfather (not really), as portrayed by a modern-day, equally not-unhealthy actor on the new "Spartacus" show on Starz.
It's not quite 4 p.m., and I haven't killed anyone.
Sunday, while hanging out with Banshee, I jotted down point totals for foods I eat based on her Weight Watchers books. Did that while we watched "Salt" and "Iron Man" -- very productive afternoon and evening.
Somehow, I neglected to jot down reduced-fat Provolone, so I'm going to ascribe two points to that, just in case. I'll find out for sure tomorrow evening when I officially join WW (which I'm either going to call Dubya Dubya or Dub-Squared, whichever one people look at me the least frightened after I say it). So far today, I've had yogurt with almonds (6 points), followed by a turkey sandwich (6-7 points). Now, I'm debating on popcorn and/or an apple.
This is slightly stupid on my part because I have no clue how many points I'm supposed to have, especially considering the points system changed recently. But I'm considering this mind of a 48-hour trial run.
As you probably heard, the great Jack LeLanne died this weekend. It's pretty sad that a man in his 90s has a significantly better body than I do -- than most men in America, actually.
He was evidence that being healthy and acting happy are synonymous. I promise you, if I ever have a six pack, you will NEVER have to ask me, "Why the long face?"
Speaking of abs, did anyone see "Spartacus: Gods of the Arena" Friday night? Neither did I -- totally had to OnDemand it.
Anyway, I'm liking it even better than the first season, which I really liked. Love Lucy Lawless in this. Have a favorite character so far? Tell me about it here.
Peace, love and washboard abs ... XOXO

Reduced fat sargento provolone is 1 point, as is pepper jack. Swiss and cheddar are 2.

Living Wright
While other kids were watching "The Smurfs," Scene Writer Jason Ashley Wright was tuned in to "Style with Elsa Klensch." By fourth grade, he knew he wanted to write, and spent almost three years publishing a weekly teen-oriented magazine, Teen-Zine -- circulation: 2. After earning a degree in journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi, he became the medical reporter and teen board coordinator for the Hattiesburg (Miss.) American, a Gannett newspaper. Eight months later, with visions of Elsa dancing in his head, he applied for the fashion writer position at the Tulsa World, where he began working on Aug. 3, 1998. He is now a general assignment reporter for Scene.
