Misty Upham
Misty Upham will join Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts in the cast of "August: Osage County," the star-studded movie that begins shooting in the Pawhuska area later this month, according to Hollywood trade magazine Variety.
Upham will play Johnna, the American Indian housekeeper who in the first scene of the prize-winning play is hired by the patriarch of the Weston family to watch after his house and his drug-addicted wife (played by Streep).
When the man next disappears, the Weston family gathers at their Pawhuska home and dysfunction reigns as Johnna watches parents, spouses and in-laws tear one another apart.
Upham, who is reportedly of Blackfeet heritage, is 30 and best-known for her role in the acclaimed 2008 drama "Frozen River," acting opposite Melissa Leo and receiving an Independent Spirit award nomination for best supporting actress.
She has since appeared in the HBO series "Big Love," and later this year she has a supporting role in Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained."
In addition to Upham, the cast of "August: Osage County" now includes Streep, Roberts, Chris Cooper, Abigail Breslin, Benedict Cumberbatch, Juliette Lewis, Margo Martindale, Dermot Mulroney and Sam Shepard.
