As an OSU grad, it hurt to see the news about Justin Blackmon. Maybe the Jaguars will put in place similar restrictions the ...
A couple thoughts with fantasy drafts just four months away.
Is Eddie Lacy the only back worth a pick?
Absolutely ...
No one thought Adrian Peterson was going to be 100 percent, much less get 9 yards away from breaking Eric Dickerson’s single ...
Let's start with some dates to help you start stressing about your fantasy draft.
The first preseason game is this Sunday, Aug. 5. I'm not kidding. The Cardinals play the Saints.
Regular season starts on Wednesday this year, Sept. 5, when the Giants play the Cowboys and shed light on how well Jerry Jones can pick games.
And now, a game of 'Would You Rather'
Rookie running backs: Would you rather have Trent Richardson or Doug Martin?
I take Martin, who you will be able to get later in the draft (unless he blows it up in preseason). Richardson is looking like a first-round or early second round pick, according to rankings. Both will be the main backs in systems that will accent the run. You can get Martin cheaper and it's likely he will be able to match or go above Richardson's numbers.
Tight ends: Would you rather have Rob Gronkowski or Antonio Gates?
I take Gates. Gronk is creeping up into the second and third rounds. Gates isn't getting drafted until after Jimmy Graham (who I think is going to be best player at the position, by the way). Gates is healthy. He is practicing fully. The guy who took away his targets is now playing in Tampa Bay. His quarterback is healthier. Meanwhile in New England, a new offensive coordinator is in place. Brandon Lloyd is going to take targets away. The new running backs who can both catch the ball will take even more away.
The Bengals: Would you rather have A.J. Green or BenJarvus Green-Ellis?
I take Green. But don't discount the Law Firm. He is walking into a very good running offense that will feed him the ball more than he's ever experienced before. I think BJGE is very undervalued right now. Green, I think, is going to have a monster year. He had 19 end zone targets last year. That is going to go up.
Steelers receivers: Would you rather have Mike Wallace or Antonio Brown?
I take Brown. He's the one who got paid and is practicing. Oh, and he's also the player who outplayed the other at the end of last season. Oh, and he's also being drafted a long time after Wallace.
