A 10-year-old girl fights off a would-be kidnapper in Philadelphia.


Police in Philadelphia are questioning a suspect in the attempted abduction of a 10-year-old girl, whose escape from the kidnapper was captured by nearby surveillance cameras.

The girl and her little brother were walking to a neighborhood store to buy ice.

When I was growing up, my sister and I would ride our bikes down the street to Tastee Freeze, just a few blocks away.

Our parents always warned us: Watch out for traffic. Not kidnappers.

I'm afraid that my own son will never know the kind of freedom we took for granted. Can you even let your kids go outside by themselves anymore?
