Adam Levine is in talks to take on a role in "American Horror Story."

The Maroon Five frontman and musician coach on NBC's "The Voice" will make his television acting debut in the second season of the FX series, according to ew.com.

He will be playing a "contemporary character and half of a couple called "The Lovers" on the show, reported the website Wednesday.

The series, from "Glee" co-creator Ryan Murphy, also stars original cast members Jessica Lang, Zachary Quinto, Even Peters, Sarah Paulson and Lily Rabe who will be playing new roles.

The second season of "AHS" will reportedly be set on the East Coast in a "horror institution," according to the website.

A native of Los Angeles, Levine and his Maroon bandmates Jesse Carmichael and Mickey Madden met in high school. The band has since had its releases go platinum and gold in more than 35 countries. The first of the group's three Grammy Awards was for Best New Artist of 2005.

The second season of "The Voice" reality singing competition is airing 7-9 p.m. Mondays on NBC, channel 2, cable 9.

In this video, Adam Levine talks about preparing for battle rounds on "The Voice" and regrets from the blind auditions.
