You can do this at the Admiral Twin Drive-in this weekend. The weather will be that nice.
Who's ready for some drive-in movie weather, just in time for spring break?
The Admiral Twin Drive-in opened March 1 for the season, and the highs on that Friday and Saturday were about 40. Too cold to sit outside.
Last weekend the temperatures improved, but a Saturday night downpour kept some away.
But this weekend, as the kids begin spring break and some parents take a little vacation time and the drive-in is open on Sunday night also, the temperatures just might be perfect: not too hot, and not too cold.
Forecasts call for highs on Friday in the low 80s (bring the lawn chairs), on Saturday in the low 70s (pack a blanket for the second show of the double-feature, and on Sunday around 60 (a little chilly after the sun goes down, and hope the 30 percent chance of rain holds off until overnight).
This may be the only opportunity until May that the drive-in is open beyond its Friday-Saturday schedule, perhaps until probably "Iron Man 3" opens on May 3, and maybe until schools are out.
The movie schedule for each night this weekend is as follows:
East side: "Oz the Great and Powerful" at 7:45 p.m., followed by "Escape From Planet Earth" at 10:15 p.m.
West side: "Jack the Giant Slayer" at 7:55 p.m., followed by "Identity Thief" at 9:55 p.m.
Tickets for the double-feature showings are $7 for adults, $3 for those age 3-11, and free for those age 2 and under. Tune in your car stereo or bring your FM radio in order to hear the sound of the movie.
The gates open about 7:15 p.m. each night.
