First Time Ever I Saw Your Face,” originally written by Ewan MacColl and made world famous by Roberta Flack in 1972.
The first version was released with
Erykah Badu as part of the Oklahoma City band’s “
Heady Fwends” collaborative double album and featured in a very-NSFW video starring Badu and her sister.
The video was pulled the day it was released due to what Badu claimed was overly graphic and “unapproved” content. What followed was an epic week-long Twitter brawl between Badu and Lips frontman
Wayne Coyne.
