"American Reunion" is getting the "pop up" treatment from VH1.
The comedy film, a sequel to the pop culture classic "American Pie," will have its own "pop up" commercial with two 30-second vignettes, according to the cable channel. The custom-made pop ups are bubbles which appear over the video and are filled with all sorts of factoids like this is the class of '99's 13th-year reunion and other information about the making of the film.
In this new comedy, opening in theaters April 6, the "American Pie" characters return to East Great Falls, Mich., for their high-school reunion. On one long weekend, they discover what has changed, who hasn't and that nothing breaks the bonds of friendship, according to the cable channel.
No longer hormonal teenagers, they have grown up. Well, at least some of them have. Jim and Michelle are married, Kevin and Vicky said goodbye, Oz and Heather grew apart but Finch still lusts after Stifler's mom.
The pop up commercials can be seen on VH1, cable 54, and at VH1.com.
