I was in the Prattville area this morning and stopped by Amici's Italian Eatery, only to learn Saturday will be the last night for the three-year-old eatery.

That's too bad. Amici's was a hidden gem, offering upscale Italian cuisine in an elegant setting. For many years previously, Lee's Diner occupied this space in Prattville Center.

The news about Amici's comes within a week of the closing of another family owned Italian spot, Gina & Guiseppe's on the RiverWalk Crossing in Jenks.

Also, during a recent spin through the Farm Shopping Center, I noticed a sign on the door of Great Harvest Bread Co. that it would reopen with new owners in the spring. It has been closed since before the first of the year.
