Owasso's Dylan Bundy won his pro playoff debut on Wednesday night. Bundy allowed one run and six hits in six innings as he pitched Double-A Bowie past Akron 4-2 in an Eastern League playoff opener.

Bundy, who was 9-3 with a 2.08 ERA in 23 starts for three Baltimore farm teams in the regular season, walked one and struck out seven. He threw 63 of his 93 pitches for strikes...

The Denver Post has reported that Bishop Kelley graduate Parker Frazier is a candidate to be called up to the majors by the Colorado Rockies when the Tulsa Drillers' season ends.

If his promotion depended on a good start in the Drillers' playoff opener on Wednesday, it looks like he will be wearing a Rockies uniform real soon. Frazier was solid in his 5 2/3 inning stint as he allowed three runs and six hits with only one walk.

Frazier pitched much better than his 5-14 record this season. He was ninth in the Texas League with a 3.88 ERA, led the league in innings pitched (167) and tied for the most starts (27). One negative is he tied for the league lead in homers allowed (19). And he gave up two of the three homers hit by Springfield's Chris Swauger on Wednesday.

Frazier, who also drew a walk at the plate and had a hard slide at second to cause a throwing error that led to two runs, left with a 6-3 lead, but Tulsa lost 8-6 in 10 innings to Springfield.
