Several Tulsa Drillers had solid performances for Salt River in a 4-3 loss to Peoria in the Arizona Fall League title game on Saturday.
Kent Matthes had two hits in four at-bats with a RBI. Corey Dickerson went 1-for-3 with a RBI. Lars Davis went 0-for-2 with a RBI. Coty Woods and Mike Marbry each pitched a scoreless inning.
Broken Arrow's Andy Wilkins was 0-for-1 as a pinch-hitter for Davis.
For the AFL season, Dickerson batted .364 with one homer and 11 RBIs in 17 games. Matthes tied for the AFL lead with five homers and was fifth with 18 RBIs as he batted .235. He had a grand slam in the regular-season finale.
Davis batted .310 with one homer and eight RBIs in 12 games. Jose Gonzalez batted .167 with five RBIs in 10 games. Woods was 1-0 with a 3.18 ERA and two saves in 10 appearances. Marbry had a 2.70 ERA in three games. Cory Riordan was 3-1 with a 5.65 ERA. Isaiah Froneberger was 1-1 with an 8.25 ERA in 11 games.
Wilkins batted .270 with three homers and 15 RBIs.
Among others with area ties in the AFL -- a league for top prospects -- Owasso's Brian Flynn went 1-3 with a 3.63 ERA in seven starts for Phoenix and Owasso's Matt Hoffman had a 4.97 ERA in 13 games for Mesa.
Texas Rangers first-base prospect Chris McGuiness, who played for Frisco in 2012, won the AFL's Joe Black MVP Award as he batted .370 with four homers and 27 RBIs. Drillers third baseman Nolan Arenado won that award last year.
