The blogosphere is going wild this morning -- and so am I -- about the latest update on "Arrested Development." You know...the ridiculously intelligent Fox TV comedy starring Jason Bateman that was canceled far too prematurely?

Rumors have been flying for years about "Arrested" becoming a feature film, and its stars, including Michael Cera, have been hounded with will-they-won't-they questions for years.

Luckily, Bateman and company quasi-confirmed the news this weekend at the New Yorker Festival on the "Bluth Family Reunion" panel. And Bateman also commented on his Twitter account.

Here's the big announcement: Not only is a feature film in the works, but so are 10 episodes of the Fox series, according to the show's creator, Mitchell Hurwitz.

The New York Times quotes Hurwitz at the Sunday panel at the New Yorker Festival:

“We don’t completely own the property, there are business people involved and studios and that kind of thing. Just creatively, I have been working on the screenplay for a long time and found that as time went by, there was so much more to the story. In fact, where everyone’s been for five years became a big part of the story. So in working on the screenplay, I found even if I just gave five minutes per character to that back story, we were halfway through the movie before the characters got together."

Here's to hoping everyone cooperates. And if you haven't caught the show, it's certainly worth a DVD rental (or watch it streaming on Netflix).

Who is your favorite character in the Bluth family? Mine is.....(respond to find out).
