Well, there is someone out there who feels I am worthy enough to dole out fantasy football advice – and accept it.

Greg Lucas is an eighth-grader at Jenks Middle School and a reader of this blog. His grandmother also was my fourth-grade teacher 30 years ago. A couple of years ago, Greg emailed me for some pointers about his fantasy team’s lineup late in the season as he was pursuing a championship.

This year, his team is 4-1 and “loaded with talent at select positions. However, every week I end up sitting a player who ends up going off for over 20 points in the week,” he says.

Greg’s locks to start each week are Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers and Kansas City RB Jamaal Charles. His question for me was filling out his other RB and Flex positions and deciding which WRs to use. His RBs are Adrian Peterson, Frank Gore and Michael Turner. His WRs are DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Kerley, Greg Jennings Michael Crabtree and Andre Roberts.

My advice for Greg was this: Play Peterson at RB because he is a stud and will look to vanquish memories of his last trip to Washington last Christmas Eve when his knee got shredded. Play Gore at the flex position since the 49ers use the run a little more than the Falcons do with Turner.

For his two WRs, I said initially to use Jennings because Rodgers is his QB. But now that the Packers WR has been ruled out of Sunday’s game with an injury, I’d have him roll the dice with Kerley another week (he has started him recently.) At the other WR, he was starting Jackson and I was fine with that since the Eagles get the putrid Lions secondary.

Hopefully the advice will pay off with a victory for him.
