"August: Osage County," the multi-award winning play by Tulsa native Tracy Letts, will have its final Broadway performance June 28.
"August: Osage County" will have completed almost 650 performances on that day. The play was to have opened in November 2007, but a strike by stagehands postponed its debut until Dec. 4, 2007. Letts' play about an Oklahoma family coming apart in the wake of the disappearance of its patriarch would go on to win every conceivable award for drama, including the Tony Award for best play and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
The national touring production of "August: Osage County" will open July 24 in Denver, and will come to Tulsa for eight performances, Jan. 26-31, 2010.
