The Broken Arrow Community Playhouse's production of "The Gin Game" left the American Association of Community Theatre's AACTFest empty-handed.
This was an unusual situation for this production, which took the Best Show and both Best Acting awards at the state community theater festival. It later shared top honors with a Texas company at the regional competition that selected the candidates for AACTFest.
"The Gin Game" was one of two productions out of the 12 in the competition that received no nominations (the other one being the Chino (Calif.) Community Theater's "Check, Please").
The production with which BACP shared its Regional win, "Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead" by the Ohlook Performing Arts Center of Grapevine, Texas, was chosen as Overall Best Production.
