The Washington Post, in advance of a weekend in which five major dance companies will be performing in our nation's capital, published a primer on ballet, debunking many of the misconceptions people have about this particular art form (that it's frou-frou, or boring, or hard to understand, etc. etc.).
You can read the piece in its entirety

And you can see ballet being done extremely well this weekend in Tulsa, as Tulsa Ballet performs three different works until the title "Balanchine and Beyond."
The ballet will also be making its debut in the University of Tulsa's Lorton Performance Center, 550 S. Gary Ave., with performances 8 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday.
And, if for some reason you're unable to attend this weekend's performances, Tulsa Ballet will be performing this program the following weekend, March 22-24.
