Here's what all the experts are saying about the Thunder, past and future:
Blah, blah, blah, blah.
Blah, blah.
Blah.

Who gave Perkins all that money and said he was the real deal?
Who drafted the KU center who couldn't play?

There is one time when a person is eager to listen to local sports talk radio: after a big game.
You don't so much want to hear what the hosts will say. You know what the hosts will say. They'll say Boomer Sooner, Go Thunder. Then if somebody disagrees, they'll hang up. Upon occasion it's interesting to hear what the semi-normal fans say.
The second Thunder game versus San Antonio was a travesty from several perspectives, starting with coaching. Why in the world did Brooks leave Fisher in the whole fourth quarter? He couldn't hit the backboard or cover a ref. When he's going bad, nobody is a bigger liability. Next, why does this team refuse to post up Durant? He is great. He cannot be stopped. Sure he's thin. So? Who guards him at the free throw line? He took 17 shots in game two. That's absurd. Whirling dervish Westbrook took 24 and was out of control on about a third of them.
To see if anybody thought what we thought, which is that Brooks is being manhandled by the SA coach, we put on the morning Sports Animal show originating in OKC. We've been away from listening to them for a while. They used to be funny. Now they're what they say they are, regional. Instead of basketball, they were talking about which was more fun, tweeting or sending text messages. Older guys with gadgets, what's more boring. This program now seems to be about sports third after too many sex references, and discussions of insignificent movies. After that frustrating experience, we put on the afternoon Sports Animal show and listened for a few minutes as they talked about which fruit juices they could or couldn't stand.
The Thunder still has a chance.
But we're on our own to figure out just how.
