THE PICKER
Here's what all the experts are saying about the Thunder, past and future:
Blah, blah, blah, blah.
Blah, blah.
Blah.
Blah, ...
Who gave Perkins all that money and said he was the real deal?
Who drafted the KU center who couldn't play?
Who ...
OU football coach Bob Stoops had this scoop during his Tulsa campaign stop: The bottom of the SEC stinks.
What campaign ...
Tired of the hype? The tripe?
Here are the reasons why the OKC Thunder is in danger of losing the West to San Antonio.
1. Not enough inside scoring.
A drive and a dunk isn't the same as a put-back or an offensive move by a center.
Perkins may look mean and may play mean. But he makes brick layers appear dextrous. He almost averages more fouls than points.
Get him the ball more or let somebody else play more.
2. Westbrook has gone cold.
Smart teams prevent him from crashing to the basket and make him shoot.
3. The LA guard is a stiff.
Fisher is shooting around 36 percent from the field and couldn't guard the mascot.
It explains why the Lakers were so happy to dump him.
4. The dopey OKC media.
The city inherits a team and suddenly the Hee Haw media is full of NBA experts guaranteeing a championship.
The problems have been there all year.
Now it matters.
Regarding the TU mess: Clarkson is not much better than average. His shot has European bench player written all over it, at best.
Yet he did not sign with the current coaching staff. Obviously he wouldn't sign with TU today. So why should be be held hostage and forced to play for strangers?
Manning didn't do much of a selling job, did he.
