Here is the real deal.
All four major college teams have been rotten. Enough with that.
The goal of all four should be to reach the NCAA tournament. Period. Nothing less can be regarded as successful. Forget youth. Forget new staffs. Forget excuses.
Get to the NCAA tournament or be regarded as a flop.
Now, about the Thunder.
Those of you who for some deranged reason listen regularly to the OKC radio homers were probably surprised to see that Memphis mopped the floor with the Thunder. In OKC!
Those meatballs should be listened to only when you're in the mood for a big laugh.
As reported here before the season started, the Thunder is in a spot of trouble. Losing the beard to money and fame hurt two teams, OKC and Houston.
The Thunder is not even close to the same team without the beard. His replacement in the trade, Martin, can score. But he gives no indication of being able to guard a mascot. OKC has nothing inside. And Westbrook has not gone berserk. He has started out berserk, shooting a terrible percentage and making turnovers at a reckless pace. That he would ever take more shots than Durant is shameful.
Is Westbrook the kind of player who can dominate the dogs and comes up short against the powers?
