Bixby senior center Sean Young committed on Tuesday to play basketball at Louisiana Tech.

Young, who is 6-foot-10, visited Louisiana Tech last weekend. He will be a preferred walk-on during the upcoming season and then be offered a scholarship starting with the 2013-14 school year.

"I got along with everybody there and liked the environment," Young said.

Young was offered a scholarship by Loyola-Chicago and also was being recruited by Drake.

Young averaged 4.7 points and 4.9 rebounds as a senior. He made a big impact and according to Bixby coach Scott Padek, played the best basketball of his high school career during the Spartans' late-season run to a second consecutive Class 6A state tournament appearance.

Young is the second player headed to major college basketball from Bixby's 2011-12 team. Jacob Bittle signed with South Dakota State last month...

Booker T. Washington point guard Brandon Brantley signed to play basketball with Rogers State on Tuesday.

Brantley, who is 5-11, averaged 5.9 points, 6 assists and 2.2 steals for the Hornets as a senior.

Brantley is Rogers State's fourth Tulsa-area basketball signee this spring, joining Union's J.C. Hartzler, Edison's Ehron Ponds and Kellyville's Johnathon Buckley.
