A handshake may be a country gentlemen's contract, but it's also one serviceman's dream come true. No verbal promise could beat this deal.

Army veteran Brendan Marrocco is the first surviving double-hand transplant recipient and hopes to share his first handshake with country star Blake Shelton, reports the Taste of Country blog and Country Music Television.

“Hey Brendan @BMarr86…. I can’t WAIT to shake the hand of an American Hero/Stud… You my brother,” Shelton tweeted.

The veteran responded: “Holy mother of God!! I can’t wait. I’m a huge fan and really looking forward to it. Thank you.”
