Almost 30 years ago, the soundtrack for the boxoffice hit “
Footloose” churned out a roster of hits, including the title song by Kenny Loggins, Bonnie Tyler’s “Holding Out for a Hero” and more.
Now that the movie’s getting a remake, it looks like the soundtrack, will too — and Oklahoma native
Blake Shelton’s been invited, according to media reports.
“The Voice” coach and man behind the No. 1 album “Red River Blue” covers the title track. Other contributors include Shelton’s “Voice” co-judge, Cee Lo Green, who paired with Kenny Wayne Shepherd for a new track for the album, called “Walkin’ Blues.” Footloose will star Kenny Wormald, Julianne Hough and Dennis Quaid. It should hit theaters on Oct. 14.
Shelton’s hit show “The Voice” also won a Teen Choice Award last weekend, beating out “The Hard Times of RJ Berger,” “The Nine Lives of Chloe King,” “Raising Hope” and “The Walking Dead” in the Choice TV: Breakout Show category, the contest’s website shows.
